Lessons learned

01
A money model is a sequence of offers.

Attraction offers bring people in, upsells and downsells come next, and continuity keeps them paying. The order matters as much as the offers themselves.

02
Get paid back inside 30 days.

A good model makes more profit from one customer than it cost to get and serve them within a month. Once that's true, cash stops being the ceiling on growth.

03
Never discount the same thing.

If someone can't pay full price, I change how they pay with a payment plan, or what they get with a smaller package. The price on the full offer stays put.

04
Billing cadence drives churn.

Annual billing loses far fewer customers than monthly billing. How often I ask for money changes how often people leave.

05
Build one stage at a time.

Rolling out a full model all at once can break the business. I add one piece, get it working, then add the next.

Who should read it

Owners who can get customers but don't make enough from each one. It's the third book in the series, after Offers and Leads.
