Can't Hurt Me

Can't Hurt Me
Lessons learned
When my mind says I'm done, I'm usually less than halfway to what I can actually do. I learned this on the mats long before I read it, but Goggins gave it a number.
Discomfort on purpose, every day, is how I build tolerance for the discomfort I don't choose. Cold showers and hard rounds are practice for hard conversations.
Write the truth on sticky notes and read it every morning. Not affirmations, the actual gaps. Then go fix one.
When the other guy is hurting as badly as I am, the one who pushes a little longer wins. Sales and jiu jitsu both work this way.
Keep a list of the hardest things I've already done. When a day gets ugly, I reach in and remember I've survived worse.
Who should read it
Anyone who suspects they've been letting themselves off easy. It's blunt, profane, and the most motivating book I own.
