The 48 Laws of Power

The 48 Laws of Power
Lessons learned
Reputation is the one thing that keeps paying off over time. I protect it more carefully than any single win.
The more I talk, the more likely I am to give away my position or say something I regret. Shorter answers carry more weight.
Spreading effort thin gets weak results everywhere. I'd rather put everything into one target at a time.
Moves like taking credit for other people's work might win a one-off deal, but they backfire in long relationships. I read the book as a description of tactics, not a guide to how I treat people.
Several laws are openly about deceiving people. Knowing them makes it easier to notice when someone's running one on me.
Who should read it
Anyone working inside an organization or across a negotiating table who wants to understand the politics. Read it with a skeptical eye.
